Two New Manga From Fruits Basket Creator.
Tokyopop has announced the acquisition of two shojo manga series from Natsuki Takaya, the creator of Fruits Basket, the most popular shojo series in North America since its debut here in 2004. Tokyopop has sold more than 2 million copies of Fruits Basket so it comes as no surprise that the company has acquired two earlier Natsuki Takaya series from Fruits Basket publisher Hakusensha.
Phantom Dream (Genei Musou) is a 5-volume shojo fantasy series that debuted in 1994 in Hana to Yume, the same magazine that ran Fruits Basket. The hero of Phantom Dream, Tamaki, is the last in the line of ancient summoners who are charged with protecting mankind from the forces of evil. Tokyopop will release the first volume of Phantom Dream (£6.50) in December.

| The second series announced by Tokyopop is the six-volume shojo fantasy/adventure Tsubasa: Those With Wings ran in Hana to Yume from 1995-1998 (Fruits Basket debuted in 1999). Set in the 22nd Century in a world where only the very rich and powerful (members of the army) live well, Tsubasa: Those With Wings is the story of Kotobuki, a teenage thief who is strong and agile as well as the object of the affections of Raimon, a hyper-intelligent ex-military man who quit his comfortable job to be with Kotobuki. Kotobuki and Raimon are among the many characters in this saga seeking the Tsubasa, an object that has the power to grant its possessors wishes.
Tokyopop plans to cross-promote Tsubasa: Those With Wings Vol.1 with Fruits Basket Vol.23, and to publish the Tsubasa series, which appeared in six tankoubon volumes in Japan, in three double-size volumes. Tsubasa Vol.1 has 380 pages and will retail for £9.99.

| The book is beautiful - it contains one colored insert at the beginning that is in Kouga Yun's current style, and one towards the end that is in her earlier Earthian style. The cover is in matterial pearl.It's a gorgeous 5 part series.
This is a lovely, absorbing volume, and the re-release at close to 400 pages, it's well worth it and now Vol 1 can be bought from us, for a limited time for only £5.99.

We will begin registration at 11.30am. There will be one sealed deck event and you will get one tournament pack and 3 boosters. Entrance will cost £15.00.

Worldwide Free Comic Book Day Comes to Richmond with Comics for All Ages!
THEY WALK AMONG US in RICHMOND is one of thousands of comic book shops around the world celebrating the comic book art form on Saturday, May 3rd. On Free Comic Book Day, over two million comic books will be given away FREE by participating stores, introducing as many people as possible to the wonders of comic books!
The wide array of comic books being published today ensures that readers of all ages — children, teens, and adults – can find something that will stir their imaginations. It’s as diverse and involving a medium as film, and there’s something for everyone. This year at TWAU we have a real coup. The book being produced by Marvel Comics, X-MEN : PIXIE, was written by acclaimed scribe London’s own MIKE CAREY and he’ll be signing them on the day. Also appearing is rising superstar artist JAMIE McKELVIE who’ll be signing his celebrated indie smashes Phonogram and Suburban Glamour, and his new breakout work for Marvel, X-Men : Divided We Stand. We have talented artist/writer and cartoonist of The Guardians CORA’S BREAKFAST, NICK ABADZIS signing copies of his moving graphic novel LAIKA, and up and coming self-publisher JENIKA IOFREDDA who produces her own title VAMPIRE FREESTYLE.
Now in its seventh year, Free Comic Book Day has proven to be a smashing success, spreading the word that comics are terrific reading. Even if you have never picked up a comic book, stop into THEY WALK AMONG US, because you never know what you will end up finding.
We at THEY WALK AMONG US want to spread the word that comics are alive and well in 2008. Comic books and graphic novels are hip, hot and smart. Comic Books have propelled to the front ranks of pop culture, many being adapted into movies. Iron Man hits the big screen on May 2nd, the day before Free Comic Book Day. The first weekend of May is going to be a big day in the comic book world.

This weeks club will be a booster draft as it is the first of the month. It will be a TS/PC/FS booster draft.
Next week will be the long awaited two-headed giant M-Fest special. This will be a Standard constructed tournament where you can choose your partner, now some people may think that that is crazy, but you know it might just work.
So find a partner and build the best deck you can think of. There will be only one game per match and you will be sharing 30 life points with your partner. Now get building.
